Elena Sharonina

Elena Sharonina is a graduate student at Florida International University, studying Criminal Justice and Public Administration. In May 2017, she graduated with her bachelor’s in Sport Science from FIU. She is a volunteer at American Red Cross and fluent in both English and Russian. Elena is presently interested in issues related to public policy and administration. Her journey to earning her MPA started during her internship period at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. She believes that for one to be an effective administrator and positively affect public policy issues, it is imperative to act from a position of trust. Ideally, being a public administrator does not just revolve around being an outstanding leader but also revolves around being able to maintain a positive outlook.

Andrea Viejo

Andrea Viejo is a dedicated individual who really cares about her community and considers herself a servant leader. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Service Administration with a minor in Psychology. Currently she is a graduate student at Florida International University and is earning her degree in Public Administration with a specialty in Human Resources. She has obtained numerous service awards from many institutions, including the White House and even has been awarded the "Super Hero Award" on national TV from our Latin community. Her dream is to make a difference in her community and with her dedication and ambition she is determined to make her dream a reality. Andrea is excited and honored to be representing her MPA class as a Student Representative.
