FIU Executive MPA Workshop at the Village of Key Biscayne

FIU Master of Public Administration Adjunct faculty member, Alfredo Riverol, provided a “Budgeting Best Practices” workshop for the Village of Key Biscayne on July 11th, 2016. Riverol is the Chief Financial Officer for the City of South Miami. From teaching workshop participants how to establish broad goals in order to guide government decision-making to developing approaches to achieve these goals, Riverol focused on how to better organize budget information and how to allocate public resources more effectively.

This workshop included 13 participants, was hosted in the Village of Key Biscayne Council Chamber, and was organized by the FIU Executive MPA Program. As one participant described the workshop being “an informative interaction between the instructor and participants,” we are equally committed to providing our community with academic efforts that advance its members’ professional careers. The MPA program gives a special thank you to the Village of Key Biscayne for joining our collaborative efforts.

If your municipality, agency, or department is interested in hosting a workshop, please contact Jasmine Negron janegron@fiu.edu for more information.
